This position is responsible for providing acute nursing patient care in a safe, appropriate and effective manner under the direction of a Registered Nurse, in compliance with the LVN Practice Act. Additional responsibilities include collecting patient information, timely and complete documentation of patient care, implementation of assigned tasks, medical orders, assisting with procedures, providing patient care through the implementation of the nursing process, transportation of patients, and housekeeping responsibilities. Integrates patient care standards into all patient care activities.
Experience: One year acute care experience as a LVN. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made for an employee with strong education and associated experiential background. Phlebotomy proficient. Proficient in order entry and word processing.
Knowledge and Skills: Able to work in a fast-paced environment; and manage/prioritize/delegate and complete work assignments and other duties, as assigned. Demonstrate knowledge of common disease process, treatment modalities and interventions. Have above average computer skills. Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
License/Certifications: Current active California Licensed Vocational Nurse License, Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, IV Certification and Phlebotomy Certification required. American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS preferred.
Equipment: Computers, monitors, printer, fax, photocopier, pneumatic tube system, Omnicell, telephone, IV pump, endoscopic equipment, electro cautery system.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
