The role encompasses 24 hour responsibility for the effective and efficient operations of the Surgical services and SPD departments. Collaborates in the development of business plans that advance surgical services.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, related health-care or management field required. Masters Degree preferred.
Experience: Progressive experience in nursing with a minimum of three year’s experience in a leadership role. Recent acute hospital experience in Surgical Services.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge in the areas of medical/legal implications, finance, labor relations, economics, and legislation that affects the health-care industry, regulatory-agency guidelines, and Nurse Practice Act. Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
License/Certifications: Current CA RN license. A current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS card is required.
Equipment: Basic knowledge of computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel.
