A medical assistant functions under the direction, guidance, and supervision of a licensed physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or RN. A medical assistant assists in coordinating all aspects of the care received in the Urgent Care setting.
Education: Graduate of a Medical Assistant program.
Experience: Prior experience in Medical Office Required. Urgent care experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Vitals, triage categories, medication administration, splinting, and competency in lab and radiology orders, medication rotation and record keeping.
License and Certifications: Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS card.
Equipments: EKG machine, blood pressure machine, otoscope, oxygen tank, stethoscope, nebulizer, glucose meter, thermometer, pulse-oximeter, Omnicell medication dispensing cabinet, computer, copy machine, fax Machine, and scanner.
