JOB SUMMARY

The role encompasses assisting with the patient care in the surgical setting through the provision of sterile and aseptic technique along with technical assistance to the surgical team members and secretarial support for the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:  Minimum 6 month’s experience as a surgical scrub tech, or in lieu of experience, completion of an approved Surgical Technology course.

Knowledge and Skills:  Aseptic technique in the surgical setting. Basic knowledge of medical terminology, computer and order entry skills. Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Able to work in a fast paced environment and manage/prioritize/complete work assignments and other duties, as assigned. 

License and Certifications:  A current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS card is required. Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) preferred. Basic Fetal Monitoring within 3 months of hire.

Equipment:  Surgical equipment and clinical devices, computers, and general office equipment

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical job requirements.

PAY RANGE

$25.83 - $38.75

The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change.  Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills.  For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
