Overview

JOB SUMMARY

The role encompasses 24-hour responsibility and accountability for the effective and efficient operation of all aspects in the Case Management and Social Services departments. Responsible to work closely with internal and external parties to support optimum hospital resource utilization and transitions.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:  Associate Degree required, Bachelors’ Degree in nursing or related health care field preferred. Master’s Degree desirable.

 

Experience:  Previous management experience and minimum of 5 years’ experience in acute hospital nursing. Preferred experience in Millimam Care Guidelines, discharge planning and case management.

     

Knowledge and Skills:  Knowledge of Pathophysiology and standard treatment for DRGs. Knowledge of Healthcare delivery system components, understanding of acute/ non-acute care. Knowledge of common hospital and physician reimbursement methodologies and impact on UM/DC processes.  Demonstrated managerial/ supervisory skills. Ability to develop processes to reach a goal.

 

License and Certifications: Current California RN license. Certified Professional in Utilization Review (CPUR) certification preferred. A current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS card is required.

  

Equipment:  Basic knowledge of computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel.

 

Physical Requirements:  Must be able to perform essential physical job requirements.

 

PAY RANGE

$73.25 - $109.88

 

The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change.  Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills.  For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
