JOB SUMMARY
This is a certified sterile processing technician position responsible for the decontamination and sterilization of patient care equipment used throughout the hospital. This requires knowledge of sterilization equipment and sterilization methods as well as the ability to determine the correct method for any given piece of equipment or instrument. Equipment and instruments are then assembled into procedure carts and trays to be used in various procedures.
Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:2 year experience in Sterile Processing Department. Able to perform decontamination, cleaning, inspecting, accurate assembly, packaging, scanning and sterilization. Familiar with storage and distribution of supplies, equipment and reusable surgical instrumentation.
Knowledge and Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing. Able to write legibly. Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Able to manage/prioritize/complete work assignments and other duties as assigned. Attention to detail needed.
License/Certifications: Certification through IAHCSMM or CBSPD.
Equipment: Able to work with varied decontamination and sterilization equipment.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
PAY RANGE
$21.50 - $29.84
The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change. Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills. For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
