Overview

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting the Registered Nurse in the provision of patient care in the Endoscopy Services Unit.  Participates in quality patient care delivery, efficient patient flow and effective communication with health care team.  Integration of patient care standards are incorporated into all clinical activities

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:   High school graduate or equivalent.

 

Experience:   One year experience in Endoscopy Unit as a GI Lab technician required. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made for a candidate with a strong education and associated experiential background.  Completion of a Surgical Technology program preferred.  Proficient in word processing and order entry.

 

Knowledge and Skills:   Basic knowledge of medical terminology, computer and order entry skills. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally an in writing.  Able to work in a fast paced environment; manage, prioritize, complete work assignments and other duties as assigned within the defined timeframes.

 

License/Certifications:   Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS

 

Equipment: Computers, monitors, printer, fax, photocopier, pneumatic tube system, telephone, endoscopic equipment, electro cautery system

 

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.

 

PAY RANGE

$24.00 - $31.35

 

The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change.  Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills.  For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
