Overview

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Emergency Department director, manager, and charge nurse, this position encompasses providing equal coverage in the provision of emergency department secretarial support, in addition to facilitating and coordinating the progression of care including but not limited to; specialty follow-up, home health care, durable medical equipment procurement, etc. for each patient from emergency department admission to disposition either as hospital admission, discharge, interfacility transfer, or deceased.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High School Diploma or GED preferred. 

 

Experience:  A minimum of one year unit coordinator or similar work experience in health care setting. 

     

Knowledge and Skills:  Able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing. Able to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing, prioritizing, and completing work assignments as well as other duties as assigned. Demonstrates knowledge of health care delivery systems, understanding of common reimbursement methodologies.

 

License and Certifications:  Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS card. Medical terminology class preferred. 

 

Equipment:   Computer, Printer, Copier, Fax Machine

 

Physical Requirements:  Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.

 

PAY RANGE

$17.39 - $26.09

 

The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change.  Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills.  For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
