JOB SUMMARY

The Echocardiogram Technologist functions as a healthcare provider who, working under the delegated authority of the supervising physician, serves as a medical imaging professional providing clinically relevant information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The Staff Sonographer role and responsibilities include providing diagnostic medical sonography services and its various clinical specialties. The Echocardiogram Technologist activities are performed consistent with their education and training, and in accordance with facility policies and procedures and applicable professional standards.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:  High school diploma or GED. Sonography education, training, and experience in the specialty area(s) to be performed.

 

Experience: Minimum of six months experience on adults required.  Pediatric experience preferred.

 

Knowledge and Skills:Demonstrated competency in echocardiograms on adults and demonstrated competency on pediatric patients within  6 months of hire.

    

License/Certifications: Sonographer certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).   If the individual is hired without certification, it will be required within one year from hire date.  American Heart Association (AHA) BLS is required.

 

Equipment:  Ability to use echocardiogram machine. Demonstrated proficiency with computers and software programs used for documentation activities and report generation.

 

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.

 

PAY RANGE

$34.74 - $52.12

 

The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change.  Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills.  For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
